About the Leather

Crazy Horse Leather, also known as oil-waxed leather, is a type of genuine leather made from cowhide through a series of specialized tanning and finishing processes.

Why Does Crazy Horse Leather Scratch Easily?

Crazy Horse Leather is rich in natural oils, so light scratches or marks may appear when rubbed or bumped against hard objects. These marks can usually be reduced or removed by gently rubbing the surface with your fingers or a soft cloth.

The unique character of Crazy Horse Leather comes from its naturally distressed look and vintage appearance. Over time, with regular use and approximately 30 days of natural aging, the oils are gradually absorbed into the leather, allowing the color to develop subtle variations while creating a stable natural sheen and a smoother, softer feel.

Notes

Leather Care & Maintenance

1.Avoid contact with oil, grease, acids, alkalis, and other substances that may cause the leather to become damp, moldy, or attract insects.

2.Avoid contact with rough or hard surfaces that may cause friction, scratches, or scuffs on the leather.

3.If the leather gets wet from rain or develops mold, gently wipe away the moisture or mold with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally. Once completely dry, gently apply a leather cleaning cream. Do not wash the leather with water.

4.For hardware care, regularly wipe the hardware with a dry cloth and keep it dry and away from moisture.

5.Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as this may cause the leather to age, harden, fade, or crack.

6.For long-term storage, fill the bag with clean crumpled paper or a cotton shirt to help maintain its shape. Place the bag in a soft dust bag and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Take it out regularly to air it out to help prevent moisture and mold.

7.Leather naturally loses its oils over time and with use, so even high-quality leather requires regular care and conditioning.

About Color Transfer

Crazy Horse leather is made using an oil-penetrating dyeing process, so some color transfer during the early stages of use is normal. We recommend avoiding pairing the bag with white or light-colored clothing during the initial period of use.

As the leather is used over time, its natural oils gradually rise to the surface and develop a beautiful patina, which helps reduce color transfer. Scratches and marks will also gradually become less noticeable as the leather is naturally polished through use.

Crazy Horse leather develops more character and beauty with age and use, and over time, it can be paired with clothing in different colors with ease.

1. Due to differences between leather production batches, there may be slight variations in the coloring and overall shade of the leather.

2. Our products are photographed from the actual items, and we do our best to accurately represent their true appearance. However, slight color differences between the actual product and the images may occur due to differences in monitor resolution, lighting, and other factors.

30-Day Returns and Exchanges

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. If the return is due to our error (incorrect or defective item), we’ll cover the return shipping costs.
